Catton Hall
So, today I went to Catton Hall. If you don’t know what this
is, it is basically a place where you can go to do various outdoor activities.
Specifically shotgun shooting. They also have quad bike courses, archery and
falconry. I went with my mum and dad; we took our shotguns and had a brilliant
day.
This was my first proper time shooting, the first time I
shot a shotgun I was younger and I didn’t aim at anything, I just put a
cartridge through the gun. From what I remember it was very painful but in
retrospect, it only hurt because I was ‘little’. This time around I was more
than comfortable holding the gun and I really enjoyed it.
Over the time we were there, which was about an hour and a
half I must have put about 50 cartridges through the gun. We were shooting clay
pigeons which are small circular disks that get flung into the air at various
speeds and in different directions. I managed to hit about 60% of the clays and
to be honest I’m extremely proud of myself.
Overall, my experience at Catton Hall was awesome. Minus the
slight bruise that is slowly developing on my shoulder due to the recoil of the
gun but I did really enjoy it and I would recommend it to anyone. Also, another
little bonus the hot chocolate that they serve there is absolutely delicious.
