Catton Hall

Catton Hall

So, today I went to Catton Hall. If you don’t know what this is, it is basically a place where you can go to do various outdoor activities. Specifically shotgun shooting. They also have quad bike courses, archery and falconry. I went with my mum and dad; we took our shotguns and had a brilliant day.

This was my first proper time shooting, the first time I shot a shotgun I was younger and I didn’t aim at anything, I just put a cartridge through the gun. From what I remember it was very painful but in retrospect, it only hurt because I was ‘little’. This time around I was more than comfortable holding the gun and I really enjoyed it.

Over the time we were there, which was about an hour and a half I must have put about 50 cartridges through the gun. We were shooting clay pigeons which are small circular disks that get flung into the air at various speeds and in different directions. I managed to hit about 60% of the clays and to be honest I’m extremely proud of myself.

Overall, my experience at Catton Hall was awesome. Minus the slight bruise that is slowly developing on my shoulder due to the recoil of the gun but I did really enjoy it and I would recommend it to anyone. Also, another little bonus the hot chocolate that they serve there is absolutely delicious.

Jurassic World Review

Jurassic World

So I decided that I wanted to watch a film so I went to see Jurassic World in the Liverpool One Odeon. In my opinion, the film was brilliant. The film had many amazing sections that make me believe that this film is the best film I have ever seen in a cinema. Overall, I do not agree with what some of the critics said, a few of the reviews were very negative and to be honest I think that these are completely unjust.

The first thing that made me instantly enjoy watching the film was the fact that the producers used the same theme music as in the previous things. This may seem like something small and insignificant but I feel like if they had changed the music, which is something so crucial to any film, then it would not have been as good as it was. Or as dramatic.

Another aspect of the film that I found outstanding was the CGI (computer generated images). Due to the developments that have come along in the field of animation and CGI the film contained fantastic fight scenes that allowed the dinosaurs to have more screen time and therefore it made the film more interesting. The dinosaurs looked more realistic and they moved in a way that made the film more life like and really sucked the audience in. Furthermore, due to the fact that the animation was fantastic it allowed the dinosaurs to be portrayed as having emotions and this is something I haven’t seen in a film involving this topic.

The actors also played a key part in making the film enjoyable. I have and always will believe that if you do not like the actors, even its just little things that they do you will not enjoy the film. However, with Jurassic world I didn’t come into contact with this issue. All of the actors were very talented and allowed the audience to get attached to them and it’s this attachment that makes the film worth watching.

My next point may seem like I am being overly picky but I really liked the fact that there wasn’t a strong romantic feel between the characters. I don’t particularly enjoy watching romantic films; I prefer action/comedy films so when I see a film that is full of action I often get disappointed when the film becomes overpowered by a new couple emerging. Therefore, I really appreciated the fact that there was now overpowering relationship involved.

Overall, I would definitely rate this film very high in my list of movies; it was entertaining, thrilling as well as having humorous sections. It was a brilliant film that I would happily recommend to anyone.

Memories

Memories

Last week, since I have just finished school I decided that I would tidy my room and have a productive day. So I did. Whilst I was sorting through my things I can across some boxes that I had stashed under my bed. In these boxes I found a lot of old things that come with a lot of memories and I thought that it would be nice to share them with you.

Firstly, I found this trinket box that my dad bought for me in the Wirral U-boat story museum thing. Finding this box was amazing because of what I found inside of it. My meteorite. It’s not expensive and it’s not the nicest piece of metal ever but it was in space and that to me, is amazing.

I also found four of the medals that I won during my gymnastic competitions.

Additionally, I also found, what I consider the funniest thing I have ever written and that is a poem that I wrote in primary school. I don’t know how old I was but I think that the drawings are absolutely priceless and I couldn’t come up with more random ideas now if I tried.

Another thing that I found and I will treasure for the rest of my life and that is my leaver’s shirt from my last day in primary school. This shirt is full of memories and I love it to pieces. It also shows how small I was in Year 6.

So that was just some of the things that I found I in my memory box. Hope you enjoyed this post.
